Any ideas? - 02.02.2006, 02:57 AM

Hey there, I finally got my Twin Force going with BL power and it's flat out nutso, but it's also got a couple quirks. The main one is that the rear diff screws like to loosen, that is, the ones that hold the ring gear to the diff cup somehow like to unthread under hard acceleration. It happened before with some coarser threaded screws, so I switched to some fine thread ones that were also a bit longer.......think they may have stripped or something though. I am running a MP 7.5 hardened steel bevel and pinion gear on the rear, helical's in the front, so those parts are rock solid.

Do I have any option other than buying a new diff cup though? I suppose I could loosen the slipper to let that take some of the brunt, it's fairly tight right now and makes the front pop up on even small throttle inputs.

Oh, and I don't suppose it means much, but I'm running a Feigao 10L and Mtroniks Truck controller on 12 cells with stock gearing.

Thanks again!

I never had problems on mine. When I switched to the helicals, I used longer machine thread screws, just like you.
You could secure them with CA glue, but you would have to make sure the holes are oil-free.

Funny thing: I stripped a hole on an ofna diff cup today...I will have to get a new cup.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on with this thing, it sucks in front wheel drive only! I guess I'll try the CA thing, maybe squirt some Nitro Blast down the screw holes to make sure they get a good grip. Hopefully the CA will do the trick though, taking off all the stupid screws that hold the axles together is getting annoying!
