How about this bl setup? - 01.30.2006, 12:29 AM

wanderer 9xl
BK Electronics 12020 Warrior Controller
using 16 cells GP 3300

I would like to hit 50mph or high 40's and still have arm pulling off torque.

I would say 18 is the limit with a 9XL. Coolhand_country has tried20 cells and said it would heat up to above comfortable levels.

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

yeah, that setup sounds like the one for you.

16 cells, and that speed is fair easy to achieve.

because i have packs of 7 cells now and i'd only need to add one more cell to each of them plus i would still be able to use my MRC dual charger.

Do you think my maxx would hold up to the 9XL on 16 cells? So far i have added...

UE 6 diffs
MIP CVDs all around
Single speed trans with steel ideler gear + FLM half case.
Hi Tech ultra torque steering servo
RR slipper clutch

The mip may hold. I have seen them break. I like the ue much better. But that can come later. That motor is good. I like it. It gives me good run time and great power. especially on 16 cells. 18 51 gearing on the strobe works well. !6 51 give you a little longer run time.

I run a 9xl with a 9920 right now. I have ran it from 12 to 20 cells. 20 seems a bit much. get a little warm. I have some video on the net to. www.rcpics.net/members/coohandcountry
this should have a video. Look up in the forum under extra long gmaxx I think itis.
