Tekno Neu Bearing Size and Source? - 06.28.2009, 08:26 PM

Hello,

Had a little problem with my 1515/1Y and I can say for sure the front bearing is way too notchy for comfort. Does anyone know what size the bearings in the Tekno Neu are (I know they are flanged...) and maybe a good source to get high quality replacements?

Thanks

Just a thought...

What about taking your bearing to a local bearing shop, and asking them if they have the same one?

Should be 5x13x4. Some are flanged, it depends on what version of the can and end bell they used.

Good idea, that place is usually located right next to the "small items that are custom made and impossible to find" shop... I use that place as a local source for unobtainium and other useful materials for my top secret government funded projects. Plus they have ice cream, yummy!

Thanks. I'll use that as a guide and check mine as best as I can...

Do you have any suggestion for where to get a replacement (I'm talking brand) and if by some miracle I can find them, do ceramic's make any difference?

Emailed Neu, they do sell them. I'm buying 6 of them so I've got enough for this fix and two more...

You just gotta know who carries this kind of stuff. I am sure even in Slidell you have a Motion Industries or an Applied Industrial, might even be a King Bearing or Purvis Bearing they carry some of those sizes (I bought some for my Feiago motor at Motion and they were ABEC 5), or they can order them in usually pretty quick. If you are looking for something shoot me a message I can usually find it.
