Good lipo - 08.17.2009, 05:04 PM

I am tired of soft cased lipos I like hard cased much better. Is this a good choice:

I've heard there is a bad solder joint in the pack...anyone know if they got this worked out or where the problem is(I'm a little hesitant to open a lipo and start soldering it but i'll do what I have to if it does have a bad joint).

Thanks guys

UPDATE;
Latest stock has improved soldering and tab joins. Removing previous issues related to cold solder breakages.
It seems the soldering joint issue has been resolved. Check out the other 30c flightmax hard case lipos too.

I thought about those but I don't like the side exit of the wires from the car. i already have a smc with that and the wires like to hang out the side of the car and its just an annoyance to me, i'm not a fan of that. And plus these are a lot cheaper...since the problem has been fixed i'll prob. get a pack or two.

On a side note:
I got a hobbywing 35a esc from hobbypartz and the 13t motor is sweet! Gobs of power(more than my novak 13.5)! The esc let me down though. It will not program and the drag break is stuck in full break. I'll use the program card to program it but it won't update or send the info to the esc. The motor is a big surprise though I really like it and i'll be running it in my slash for mod sc tuesday.

These are the 2s 30C 5000mah Zippy that I decided to go with. So far they have had great runtimes on my E-revo (geared pretty conservatively) and all the cells stay balanced very well. I like hard-case lipos better than shrink-wrapped ones for the protection aspect of it. I guess the way the wires are placed depends on what you're putting them in, I chose these because the wire style on the lipos you linked to didn't suit my application.
