Hyper 9e on 6s - 08.24.2009, 05:36 PM

Hi, today I run first time my hyper 9e, the setup is a neu 1515 3d on mmm with 6s lipo gear for 38mph, it have too much acelerate, I thinck that the car is undergearing, the motor go to 176 f!!!!! and the esc and batt was cool, I am going to gear it to 48mph (I don't have another big pinion) but it is too for my track, I want to limit the speed whit my dx3s, I think that it is going to run cooler and it will have more runtime, what do you think about it?

Thats an odd motor choice, dont see many people running one of those very often. I would definately say its undergeared though yes, but if its accelerating too quickly then gearing up wont help too much, just gonna raise your top speed more than anything. I would say try it on 4s or 5s lipo geared for about the same speed as it is now or a little higher- that should take the edge off of the aceleration.

I would play with the throttle curve via the castlelink to see if that can help.

I use it on 5s and it run how a nitro....... and i want to kill nitros, whit 6s I can kill nitros haha, i think that with and higer gearing the temp should down, and it is the first thing that I want to solve, the top speed can be reduce by sofware and the accelerating too (i am going to run 48mph top speed teorical that is going to be reduced by the dx3s), but I need to have run time and need that the components run cool, if i use and higer gearing and I limit the top speed can i have more runtime that with the low gearing?
regards

Thats a tricky one...

If you just geared higher, then runtimes would ofcourse decrease, but if you gear up and limit full throttle, I think it will end up about the same runtime- its still geared up so there is more load on the motor through the whole throttle range. Thats my theory anyway....

hi, have just run it on 14, 15, and 19t pinions and the motor run hot in all pinions, I think that the 1515 3d is for more volts, What can I do for run cool?
