I believe the radio part of my Spektrum SR3000 dsm rx is dead. It's the little top chip with the antenna connected to it. When driving, it lost signal. it went into failsafe mode, holding the servo centered and MM at neutral, and the MM beeped every 2 seconds telling me there is no signal. the signal light does not light at all, indicating it is not connected to a Tx. To make matters worse, I can put it into bind mode, and it will stay that way forever, while when I try to bind with the Tx, the tx light blinks for about 2 seconds, and then becomes solid, like it just successfully bound with the Rx, all while the rx still continues to blink.
I swapped the top part with another reciever, and still the same problems. I put the top chip from the "good" rx into the bad one, and it worked perfectly, leading me to believe the radio part is busted. I dont see any physical damage either. does anybody knows if I can just buy the top chip? or should I call horizon? or what?
I'm sure they'll make you send it in for warranty repair if the warranty is still in effect. I don't see them giving the consumer a little chip like that, it's unlikely they even have access to it. They'll probably send your receiver back to the OEM for refurbishing and send you a different one.
