Robots and future

Any of you guys mess around with robots? I've never been too interested in the battle type bots, but something like this looks interesting to me.

I wonder if this is agood way to go to get into learing about modern robotics? Since it can be progammed and all would it be a good tool for learning the science behind it for future technologies?

I've been thinking about how RC can help in the real world with a career and all, and after reading about the Pentagon's desire to create "Drone Squadrons" I'm thinking this might be a good track. I know Rumsfield wants a robot army too, maybe we can send these little guys in!

I saw on Military channel a guy in California flying a reconnaissance drone over Iraq, and while creepy it seemed pretty cool, too. Work from home, fly over a distant country. Talk about telecommuting!!:028:

im interested in all this stuff. It could turn out real bad if its in the wrong hands. having an army of robots, you'll have to be 100% sure nothing can go wrong with them what if they went out of control or something.

Thanks! I just ordered the first two issues. Looks like they have a review of the Hitec bot, too. Just what I needed, another money pit, lol.

herest the thing u gotta consider. Robots could replace humans. Mass unemplyment? Then the governemtn would have to get invovled and that'll increase oru deficit! The gap between rich and poor increases. The governemtn becaomes poorer and pooorer! The unemplyed become angrier adn angrier! China willl be the new wolrd power adn BAM! a communist revolution will occur in US when the workers revolt! Then communism will spread throughout teh world and democracry will cease to exist! ALL BEACUSE OF STUPID ROBOTS! lol
