Got some more work done today.

Got axles mounted to chassis.

Mounted radio box all the way at the back. Looks kind of like a fuel cell.

Stripped the chrome off the wheels with easy off and the anodizing off the rings with drano.

Painted the wheels with some Rustoleum textured paint. Looks kind of like a scale spray on bedliner.

Made some "rope weights" out of some fishing line and weights. They weight about 5oz. a string.

They fit the groove in the wheel perfect.

Wheels mounted up.

Its a roller.

More to come.

Trimmed the ears off the axles.

Mounted a fairlead to the bumper.

Body sitting on it to get a idea of what it will look like.

Started on some hinges for the mirrors so they will fold in.

I love the fold in mirrors, I haven't seen them in r/c yet. This will be a nice build, please keep posting.

Thanks for the comments.

Got some more done tonight.

Got the mirrors all glued up. Just have to smooth out the glue and get them all nice looking and they will be done.

Got all the hardware for the body finally and got it partially mounted.

Only holes I drilled in the body were for the rear posts.

Also got the bumper mocked up. Still have a trim it to fit the grill and line it up a little better.

Side view of bumper.

Body on.

Got a R2D tranny and the RC4WD Scale lighting system coming. Wont be long.

Getting closer and closer.

Got the R2D tranny and some pinions today.

Mounted.

Then finished up mounting the body. The body posts just position it and the s side plates have a screw that hold the body down.

Body attached.

Then started modded the battery tray a little to get it where I wanted it.

Made a servo mount for the dig servo.

Then finally I got the bumper and body fitting together a little better.

Also started filling unnecessary holes in the body and bed.

Wont be long now. About all I lack is electronics and paint it all up. Where Im going with flat black and going to use textured black on the lower portion of the body and in the bed for a scale spray on bedliner look like I painted the wheel.

Got the scale lighting system from RC4WD today.

Then I decided I HAD to try it out so I through some Slash electronics on it for now. Tried putting the slash motor on the r2d and the hole in the r2d wasnt big enough. Figure it was time to break out the dremel and go to town. Took it all apart dremeled it out went outside and washed all the shaving out with some soapy water and blew it off with the air hose. Put it all back together and see if it wokred by just hooking a battery straight to the motor and one of the pins for the gears came clean out the side. Got to looking on one of the little brass bushing that holds the pin in fell out. OHHH MAN. That sucks. So I went on a scavenger hunt and after about 3 minutes I smoehow found it laying in the grass beside the garden hose. lol Lucky me.

Had to make another dig servo mount cause I didnt leave room for the motor. oops.

The electronics arnt in the final spot for now. This is jsut for testing. Going to move the esc and receiver later on.

Random pic.

Test vids coming soon.
