Turnigy or zippy packs - 08.11.2009, 02:40 PM

Im just wondering which pack i sould buy as im looking at the zippy 5000mah 25c 6s packs and the turnigy 5000mah 25c 6s packs. i know the turnigy pack are heavier and longer but other than that what is the difference and which should i buy and why?

im going to need higher amp draw than that though to be safe, im running a 1521 1y in a muggy, and dont plan on being light on the trigger. if i thought they would not have heat issues i would get them but my zippy H 5 cell pack got super hot and puffed with a 1515 1y in the muggy. i just want to be on the safe side but dont have the money for high end packs

The Hyperion Gen 3 are high end, but they are much more reasonable in terms of price compared to say TPs or Flightpowers etc.

You could always do what I do though- use a pair of 5s or 6s lipos in parallel, that doubled mah capacity should greatly reduce the chances of puffing or over heating.

i cant believe you puffed a 5s 5000 in a muggy, the 2200 isnt really a perfect 5s motor tho, what kv are you going to run on 6s?

well it was just too much strain for the 5s pack and the muggy, i ran the setup in my crt many times without any issues, the 1521 is 1577kv so on 6s it should be great i just wanted to make sure i wont have any issues with the next battery i buy but want it to be something i can afford to buy a couple packs.

I wouldn't go for less than 30c5000mah in the Muggy. And if you're running the mmm controller I wouldn't run it with zippy's on 6s unless you're using mechanical brakes. Not from personal experience, but from what I've read on this forum.

You could also wait for the bigger 40c rhino's. Or like Neil said, get the hyperion 35c lipo's.

I bought a pair of 3s 5000 25-35C Zippy lipos for my Muggy and so far they are great! It'll do 60+ if you can keep it on the ground.

Yep, 80-2000 (2000 KV). I'll try to get some video later today.

umm i dont think ill really have problems then especially with the 1521 1y 1577kv ithink im going to go with the 30 turnigys as they are only 99 bucks now. i just wonder why the flightmaxes are 20 bucks more yet their 25c packs are practically the same price as the turnigy 25c packs
