Do you guys know that ROAR

allows 4 and 6 pole motors to be used in racing? Well, a ROAR director said so himself. I swaer it was just a little while ago when they finally made the Castle motors legal, but only for modified. Now we even have jokers in their maybe trying to kiss ass?

It's strange, instead of letting the technology be used, they just make their own little rules without any knowledge at all. The ROAR director clearly doesn't know his own rules, but he already said 4 and 6 pole motors are allowed so I'll be using my Aveox next summer when I start racing again. Good thing I have a few sensored Aveox motors . Will be an awesome drag motor if the rotor can stay together, their old . If the rotor doesn't handle the stress, I'll just send them to Mr. Neu.

It's the same as it's always been--if you don't like the rules, don't participate.

I'm not saying ROAR (or any other sanctioning body) has always pleased me, but I also see their point. If you don't set a firm cap somewhere on the technology spectrum allowed, it just becomes a spending war. They initially set the rules underneath a point we found acceptable, and over time changed them (albeit to a point we still may feel is under where it should be) in response to demand. Sounds fair to me.

It's not a matter of liking the rules, it's basically letting more technologies to get involved in racing. But like the director said, they do allow them. So I'm good. A 4 or 6 pole motor can have the same price tag as the 2 pole motors. The places that sell the motors are the ones that sets the price. Look at the 2 pole sensored motors that Hobbycity sells, they're less then $40. The price of the motors are not high, but people need to make a profit to keep them going and this would be great for companies like, Neu, Medusa (If they come back), Mega (They made a sensored 6 pole), Plettenberg and a few others. They would have to be in the same price range as the 2 pole motors which can be made. Now if they want to put safety first then a more efficient 4 or 6 pole motor would be safer then a 2 pole motor as they don't pull so many AMPs to get the vehicle up to speed. That means a lot less stress on the batteries and ESCs. They should let all forms of the brushless technology to be used. That could even bring the cost of some motors down as one will have the upper hand and that could bring the cost of the hobby down for the ones who don't race.

Have killed 3 rotors in the last 2 months on different aveox- they arent the best for car's.

I'll soon be sending most of my Aveox motors to Neu to get a fresh rotor. Everything that is old will eventually break at some point. Now, even some of the new 4 pole motors (Aveox style) have the same problems. My Rc7 5000Kv has handled all I gave it.

Lutach, I'm not sure where you live, But RC Pro is almost everywhere in the U.S. The do not have rules that limit motors in their classes

I personally do not have any desire to run ROAR, till they drop the hard case rule. I have been running soft packs for two years, no failures, no damage.

I know. I was planning on going to the race in Coral Springs to race in the truggy class, but got a bit busy. The ROAR Director said the 4 and 6 pole motors are allowed, so I'll see if the companies I know of in China are willing to make me a few 540 size 4 and 6 pole motors. I'm pretty sure that Castle and Tekin will take advantage of this.
