Which lipos for 9xl & 9920? Please help. 10c?15c?20c? - 02.22.2006, 01:51 PM

I have a Gmaxx I've been building and I'm in need of some advice. I have a 9920 esc with a 9xl motor. I have the single speed conversion on my maxx. My question is what can I run for Lipos? There are so many options. My biggest question is can I run 10c or 15c or do I need 20c batteries. I know I want to use 11.1v 3s 4000 mah packs but I don't know what the difference is between the 10c,15c or 20c versions of them. I know price is a big difference. Could someone please help. Thanks Guys.

i would take the 20C things, the XL motors can draw serious amps.

that 80A the 20C 4000mAh packs can deliver is just enough.

So no less than 20c then correct? And I did mean I was going to use two 3s packs together sorry for the confusion? Any idea where to get the best deals on packs like these?

I would use a minimum of 4S or 5S with this motor, otherwise the motor will take very much current from your packs and run not as efficient as you would like.

Not in 3S with a 9XL, or are you planning on running 25-30 mph?

I think this mean he is going to run 6s lipo rene. Which should work great on the 9xl motor.

Peace!

6s is 22.2volts. It should be fine with the batteries. I think I would go with the 20c rated batteries for a little extra insurance.

You might want to check out these Hyperion 20C packs:

http://cheapbatterypacks.com/main.as...id=tp&sort=V20

They only have up to 3700mah, but at 20C, that should be more than adequate, especially since they're rated at 30C burst for 30sec.

You might check these out. Their LiMn's and are suppose to be as good as lipo's but not as dangerous
