One of the trucks I have been working on

I've been in the hobby for 6+ years now, and I started with a stampede; ever since it's been my favorite truck. I always wanted to make one huge that boasted considerable performance aswell, but I never had the funds to. Now that I have a steady job, I decided to start again. Enter the "Pederate".

Right now it has:
FLM Tranny Case from RCM
EZRUN 150A ESC from RCM
Hacker C50 MAXX motor
STRC Rear Carriers, Steering Knuckles, Castor Blocks, and 17mm adapters
Ofna Pirate/Titan Wheels
Turnigy 4000mah 3S Lipo

It's still under development, but it's going to need some bigger shocks and definately a better diff gear, I have a feeling the stock plastic housing is going to implode before the first run is over. Comments (Good or Bad) appreciated.

I bought them second hand, I believe the wheels are from an Ofna Monster Pirate, and the tires are from an Ofna Twin Titan. The wheels are basically the same size as Clodbuster wheels, give or take a tenth of an inch here and there.

I am worried about the planetary gears aswell, but it's a catch 22...I was planning on putting a Hot Racing spool inside of a VXL diff, but then that's going to put all of the stress on the already stressed out U-Joints. I have been brainstorming ideas on what might work, I might end up using buggy dogbones to handle the power, the only thing I am having trouble finding are suitable drive cups.

The tires are whats going to cause failure problem, need to scale down to a lighter wheel and tire set.

These are 5" tall and weight considerably less and will help prolong trans and axle failures.

Other than that your build looks like a lot of fun ! ! !

Shocks; 1/8 scale buggy shocks will serve well providing they are not to long.Edit(will require the softest spring availble due to being designed for a buggy that weighs twice the Pede does)

Unfortunately, this is a great idea, that several, including myself, have tried and failed at. At least to get any kind of usable speed. Problem is driveshafts, once you get a locker, because nothing else will work, they will twist. Stock's, Jato's, MIP's, even the FLM's will not hold up to the power of 3s, and truggy tires. Since all the weight is in the rear they actually get very good traction. The only thing I've come up with is custom driveshafts. If your willing to go slow, under 35, and use a loose slipper it can work. So good luck man. :D

Thanks man, I am looking into trying to find a way to get some 1/8th scale buggy dogbones on there with some axles. The universals for my Ofna LX Comp and the Dominator/Pirate trucks have a removeable half shaft, which would let me cut my own of custom length, but the problem now is trying to find a set for less than $30, too bad they aren't new or I could find a set cheaper on ebay.

Smaller Tires will take the place of a loose slipper and not put so much stress on the drive train.

I guess I didn't say, but the whole purpose of this truck is to run reliably with the wheels/tires that are on it. The size of the wheels is what makes it fun for me.

Reliabilty with those tires may never happen.

Probably not, but all in good fun. Just like the big trucks, you take the giant wheels first, and then try to get the rest of the truck to work :)

once you get the diffs and a few upgraded gears im sure it will be fine.

long as your not floorin it off the line i dont think they will snap/bend.

my concern is turning those tires! freak id think youd need a sweet servo forem, and in your description you didnt list any type of aftermarket one.

also. you better get a sick body for it! likea hummer or something mean like that.

a stock pede body would ruin the whole build.
