Need a quick Lehner answer...

I'll be designing my motor mount for the Savage tomorow morning, I'm going to make a universal drop in mount for any Savage that will fit the following motors:

Feigao 540S, L and XL
BK Wanderer 540S, L and XL
Lehner 2240 and 2250

I've got all the dimensions for the Feigao and BK (they are the same right) I just need to know how many mounting holes the Lehner has?

Other than that expect a good motor mount done by tomorow night. I may try and incorperate a nice heatsink into it too...

Click on the motor's(down screen little to the right) --> serie 22 --> dimension. You'll find there measurement's there.

Problem is, the 2250 uses m4 thread's. Forget feigao and wanderer when you got the 2250 anyway:p

it is going to hard to work two mounts in one. The lehner 22 seris has different mounting holes. I use two. If you make the holes reall long you can put three in it and run in the same as the xl motors.

Not really that hard... The lehner has a 30mm bolt circle, the XLs have a 25mm bolt circle.. Just stagger them like so:

This mount isn't complete, I have to add threaded holes for the mount to attach to the Savage's motor plate. It will fit 22 Series Lehner's and 540 size Feigao and Wanderer's. With the 22 Series Lehner being the largest diameter motor the lower heatsink will just be touching the motor.





The inner 4 bolt holes are for a 540 motor. The outer 4 holes are for the 22 Series. The most outward cutouts are for reduced weight/motor cooling/good looks :)


I may add a mount for a fan, as well as a rear stabilizer bar for the motor (this bar would screw to the mount as it would have to be different for the different dia motors.

There is one problem before your design gets made. It won't fit a 22 seris motor
The bolts are not straight across from one another. So you need to change it a little.

That is very much an issue. You need to be able to alter the mesh

I'm guessing it's going to slide like a nitro engine mount.That's what i'm doing with a mount i'm making at the moment,it's a brass sleeve with mountings silver soldered on which uses the origional nitro engine slots for adjustment.

How many holes on the 22 series coolhand?The 19 series has 8 so the 4 bolt pattern would work there.
Edit: the BK site shows 8 holes for the 22 series so the the design should work as it is.

@fiero silva,just an idea for the rear support,how about making a circular rear support as one piece with the mount and then use a reducer for the 36mm diameter motors.

I don't know off hand gustav. I would have to pull motor and look. it is an odd number of holes though. I made a mount before i received it and it wouldn't work like i though.

What you mean? It is a 30 mm around. I don't know if all the motors are like mine. I would assume so.

EXACTLY!.. It will mesh the exact same way the Nitro Savage motor mount does.

That will be an easy fix.. I just need to know the exact orientation of the holes.

BK's site shows 8 holes evenly spaced on a 30mm circle for the 22 Series.. That's what I designed for.

If the 19 Series has 8 holes on a 30mm circle that motor will bolt to this mount too. Bonus! :)

Perhaps the BK site is wrong with the 8 holes.. I had looked last night and found some sites that pictured 9 holes and others that showed 8... Can anyone confirm the number of holes and if they are evenly spaced?

I like the reducer idea, saves material and time.. Just use a set screw or somthing to hold it in..

So, do you guys like it? :p
