sorry, mgm break problem.... - 03.05.2010, 07:45 AM

can somebody shoot me some pointers here. i've been using the search, but i'm not sure i'm coming up with the answers. i seen on one post to tell the esc what pole motor i'm using, i didn't see that in the programing lititure. i'm using a mega acn22/45/2 motor. right now it seems to have a slow take off, but that doesn't bother me to save my slipper and diffs, but it seems to roll forever before applying the breaks. i tried to play with free wheel settings, and also break strength but it still rolls until maybe 10-15mph before applying breaks. this is a little dangerous and i don't want to power slide to break. i had a 16018 modle in a maxx before and overcame this same problem, but i don't remember how. this is the 22418 model and i'm pretty sure its the 3.23 firmware. programing is done by tx. thanks.

also, i am using fm radio gear.

If you can get the computer programming card it's much easier. I never bothered trying to program mine via tx b/c it was too involved.

Try resetting to default settings and reset to radio again. Make sure trim is at 0 and endpoints at 100 or 125 (brake adjustment at 100 as well).

what i've done was put the brakes on the next to hardest setting and put brake in neutral to med. it has worked, but i don't like how it drives this way. i'm going to take neutral brakes back off and if i loose my brake feel again, put them at hardest setting, and if that doesn't work, neutral brake at lowest setting. i think i'm getting close though.

If you're still having trouble let me know. I have the usbcom for programming and updating the controller. If you have software v3.2 or above I think I have the stuff to update it.
