6s lipo on a G2R - 03.25.2006, 08:27 PM

Hi Everybody!!!
I want some motors recomendations for a G2R with a BK120. I was thinking on the Wanderer XL series. I am planning to use Lipo 6s(4000mah probably). I want a balance between speed and runtime. I was thinking on the 8XL. What runtime can I expect? Can I beat the nitro on this?
Thanks:037:

How about the 9XL? It'll give better runtime than the 8XL, yet still have just as much speed (when geared appropriately). 6s Lipo gives more than enough power to beat nitro.

i plan on running a g2r (currently just converted from nitro) with 6s 8000mah lipo on a 10xl and 9920. i have the motor and controller and are currently running on 16 cells. i really like the power. a 8xl on 6s would be plan insane and overkill. to be honest, i dont think that the stock diffs will hold up to that much power.

Either a 9XL for speed, or a 10XL for slightly more runtime

The 9xl would be my choice of motors. But that is just me. It is fast and powerful. Great run time as well.

Peace!

Can I get away with the 9xl on 16 cells until I get the lipos?:037:

Yes, that would be fine.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

What runtime and speed should I get with each one, 8XL vs 9XL?
G2R,13 pinion,51 spur,6s (4000)lipo or 16 cells(4200)?:037:

I would say about 30 mins for runtime on the 9xl. Speed would not be to bad to speak of.

You should be able to get to 50mph no problem with 6s on the 9xl. Expect around 15 min of runtime with 4000mha. Your lipos should be rated at 80-90 amps continuous with that motor. My 8xl on 6s was pulling 100+ amps during acceleration.

That sounds great!
Which lipo do you recomend me?
What is your opinion on the 8XL?Overkill?To much for the track?
Thanks:037:

8xl on 6s is complete total overkill for the track. Obscene power. For the track I would go with a 10xl.

6s lipo is too much for almost any track! Unless its the size of a football field.

My thoughts exactly. On a track, top speed isn't the answer. Controllable power and driving skill is what wins. A broken truck doesn't win, either! Keep the power mild and maximize the runtime.
