A few questions on modifying lipo packs. - 06.11.2010, 07:47 AM

I have 2 Polyquest 2s hardcase lipos that I want to make into a single 4s pack. I have pleanty of experiance soldering so that isn't a problem, but I still have a few questions. The packs are identical, same number of runs, charge cycles and charge rates, etc. I need to get the hardcases open. What is my best way to do that. I don't want to cut into a cell with the Dremel but I have no idea how much extra room there is in the case. Also, do I have to re-shrinkwrap the new 4s pack? I have no idea where to find the wrap. I was thinking some straping tape would work but I want to do it right. Thanks for any help!

I do lipo repairs :)

You probably neeed to pry the cases apart, then the cells might be glued to the inside of the case... Need alot of adhesive remover...

Maxamps sells shrink, cheapbatterypacks.com sells it

Add the height and width of your pack multiply by two, thats the circumference of your pack, look for the size of shrink above that..
