Clutch bad - 04.07.2006, 07:31 PM

How is a good way to know if your clutch is bad?
Is the aluminum clutch better than the stockers?
I don't know alot but hope some one can help.
My stuff seems like it is opening up but not moving like it should.

Peace!

im not sure but when i drove my mt i heard sounds. it mostly sounded like something was with my clutch bell but couldn't really find the problem. the sound was like stripping gears but neather my front or rear diffs are stiped.
i also checked my spure gear and also nothing
i re-tightened my clutch bell and still the noise.
so i cant really explaine what the noise it but sounds like the clutch bell to me.
the only way i think you can find out how the clutch is bad then revome it from the engine and look inside the bell
check if anything is missing/ sometimes a spring will me somehow missing
try to sometimes tighten the clutch bell
those are probably the only thoughts of reasons to know when your clutch bell needs a change.
coolhand is your throtle responce more worse then it used to be?

my thortle response is good but it is like the motor revs up and the truck starts to move. I ran thru grass and the truck was slowing down but still reving hard. I check the slipper out to. It may be to loose.

One sure way to tell if the clutch is starting to go - temp the clutch - if its really hot - thats a sign -

Hows that "Hope and Change" working out for Ya???

I never checked the temp on the clutch. I may do that next time out. It is raining now so not today. I am starting to consider a change over to brushless on it. Run the 3 speed trans and some brushless. :027:

Well with some tinkering I found the slipper clutch was loose. It did much better after that was tightened. The nitro sure is messy though.
