I believe the only difference is that one is a 12 cell controller and the other is up to a 20 cell controller.

Hows that "Hope and Change" working out for Ya???

in the title you say that you want to know the differance between the 20120 and the 12020. the 20120 is a micro car controller and has more tuning options. it will also run a little bit smoother at lower speeds.

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt replies. Guess I was confused by the product description of the 12020 because it was near identical to that of the 20120 (in fact the detailed description of 12020 states that the controller is 20120 !)

I'm looking to get something similar to the 9920 with a higher amp rating. I find that with 5S lipo & the 7XL, my 9920 is overheating after a couple of minutes. I have the system in a BL buggy with 13T pinion & 46T spur. When I switched to a 10L, temperature came down to around 60 ~ 70deg. C for the controller (vs. 100 deg C +). Mind you, I'm running the esc in forward only mode with reverse & brake disabled.

Guess only the 20120 will fit the bill. Time to start saving.

Thanks.

Regards,
Joe Ling

Try an 8Xl or 9XL and gear up. It will solve your heat problems.

Thank you,

the 12020 can still handle 20 cells and 120 amps but the 20120 has more tuning options either one would work fine in my opinion.

Abigger esc will help. You can drop the pinion a tooth would help to. The xl cans will give you more torque so it work the motor and esc as hard. 12020 is a warrior and like the 9920 you have. The 20120 is a micro and has a little more options in the programming of it.

Peace!
