Looking to Buy a Basic Truck (Rustler Preferred) and a Bit of Help - 09.14.2010, 10:42 PM

Hey all, I have a friend who has started college with me and is interested in getting an RC car. I have explained to him everything that is necessary to make a brushless Rustler (since that's what I have). A very kind member of this forum has sent me a brushless ESC, so I plan on buying a Mamba Max 5700 or similar motor for him as well as a rolling chassis and a cheap 2.4GHz HobbyKing radio. Right now we're planning on getting a couple of Turnigy 3s 4000mAH Lipo packs (25C, 30C, or 40C?) and a decent lipo charger for them (unsure what to get). And I'll be getting an LVC for the truck as well.

So I'm wondering if anyone has a basic Rustler, Stampede, or Slash roller that they'd be willing to let go at a decent price for a beginner. The truck will eventually need to have a VXL transmission (steel top gear, idler, and diff ring) as well as 5x11 bearing carriers and an XL5 type slipper clutch, so it would be wonderful if the roller came with some of those already.

So I need:
Cheap roller
Suggestions for a lipo charger
Suggestions for which C rating of battery to get
Notified if there's a gaping hole in my plan

Thanks,
Brijar!!!

You have a small gaping hole in your plan 3s might be a little much for a 5700kv motor.
