Any Takes on Team Losi Combos? (1/8th)

I just picked up a brand new Team Losi 1/8 Xcelorin Sensorless Brushless ESC/Motor Combo (1700Kv).

I was wondering if people still have problems with this ESC or Motor?

I just don't want it to go up in smoke. I would be out 180$.

I have used a HobbyWing XeRun 80A Combo (it was a good combo, only had problems with soldering)
MMMv3 (wow what a great ESC!! never had problems except for the switch dying but was an easy fix)

I heard alot of local people saying their ESC went up in smoke and their motors still run strong, heard from others ESC runs good but motor sucks.

Well...my co-worker bought the same set up as you and smoked his esc after 6 packs. ( my guess is his internal bec fried ) His motor seems to be strong though.

Go w/a MMM and forget it

well i hoping my ESC holds and doesn't go up in smoke if it does I will be buying a MMM for sure

Any ESC has the potential for going up in smoke. The MMM isn't exempt by any means. A bad setup (geared too high), stalled motor, or firmware "bug" could cause any ESC to turn into char in short order. I would say the MMM would be a better choice simply from a programming and service standpoint.

just going to have to take my chances.

if it does stop to work I will be damn will be buying a MMM for sure never had a problem with it only the switch going out but big deal. I have had a Losi product before (intil it got stolen) was the first nitro i bought too. never had a problem with it (was broke in right w/ help of the LHS after they stripped the spur gear ) (thats the only thing i ever have happen to it is losing spur gears)

seems alot of Co. are going down the drain for 1/8 scale electric.

Like with Novak its etheir tower stopped selling them or Novak did. even with the conversion kits. lucky this place has all the conversion kits you could ever need and the best too!
