Real 17mm hexes

Is there a solution for this yet? Man, I can't stand these locknuts. I've already rounded 2 of them. I'm not a big fan of Integy but I might have to give these a try if I have no other choice:

Yeah but that means I have to go 40 series. In that case I might as well go 24mm and slap some 5b's on there. I was hoping to keep this build light too.

could be used in a savage so that 'normal' 17mm mounts like the ones on the Vorza could be used. I haven't seen reports from anyone who has actually tried it though.

I don't have much trouble with the stock Flux nuts but the proper 17mm nuts would be easier to work with i think. Anyone know if there are other off the shelf solutions other than the Integy one? The Integy ones look to come in a variety of offsets too which could be handy.

So what exactly is the issue with the stock 17mm's? Is it just the nut on the outside? If that is it, I would have agreed with you right after I got my Flux, but after running it for a couple years, it is the only truck I have had that I have NOT lost a wheel. Hence, I live with the small nuts...

I guess it's just the annoyance. I swap wheels and tires all the time so a 17mm hex would be a lot more convenient. I did find some random Kyosho hexes in my parts and it fit the axle perfectly with no play at all. I just need a barrel nut to secure it to the axle itself. Anywas I'm going to do some research on the 5T axles, if not I might just test out the Integy's.

Those 5T axles are interesting. Too bad they aren't avail in US, and they are horribly expensive from Europe.

those 5t axles are just truggy axles... any 1/8 buggy or truggy uses them... i just converted my Mad force to them... work wonderfully :)

hyper 7 ones are dirt cheap too... and more than strong enough for crazy bashing :)

I'm talking about the axles, not the hexes. That's why the axles are nice, then you can use the more universal 'uggy hexes.

They have offset hexes too to gain more width if needed.

There are a number of cheap integy hexes on ebay. They have upto 9mm offset, but there is one set that goes upto 12mm offset, but is not on Integy's ebay store. There used to be a number of hexes for the hypers that had large offsets too, but I can't seem to find them anymore.

IDK about the Savage ones. The only concern I would have would be what they are using as a sleeve for the axle threads, esp for such a large offset. I had ofna hex adapters for the revo way back when and the steel threads ate into the soft alu of the hub and eventually caused wobbling. I eventually made my own sleeve for the threads from 7075 tubing, but never tested it long term to see if would hold up better.

So I guess those 5t axles do fit but they need to be shimmed behind the pin. Not so sure if I like the idea of that. I guess these are the only 2 choices:

Are these Flux axles the same size as the 4x4 Slash axles? The AKA 17mm adapters would work out perfectly if the threaded part of the axle were the same size.
