Sh#t storm of GST's here's mine so far - 11.06.2010, 08:12 AM

i'm starting to see alot of these conversions which is really nice. there just aren't enough. i got this roller a few months back and was on a very tight budget since introducing dave ramsey into my life for the build. i already had most of the things on the truck. the only thing i've purchased for this build was the motor with i requested as a bday present from my mom since castle was having their sale, and i bought the 66t spur gear.

the motor mount was very difficult for me. all i have for tools are a dremel and a cordless drill and some bits. i plan on redoing the mount in the future, but i was anxious the get the truck in a running state to play since it was my only rtr at the time.

specs are a castle 1717 motor, mgm22418 esc, and a monster robot servo jr dsr8801. as of right now, i only have a 4500 30c 11.1v battery to run in it. i wont complete my motor mount or battery tray until i get the batteries i will use in the truck at six cells. enjoy

One servo i s enough for you? I prefer two servos in push-pull setup.
I hope to see soon the end of your project.

its way plenty. the weak point right now is the spring, but i haven't even looked to see if its adjustible yet. servo is rated at 396oz and .14s at 7.2v. i'm not sure what i'm getting now, but it moves just fine.

unfortantly, the allen screws are stripped so i can't get it apart. i've been watching for a center diff for a matrix tr arena, but got tired of waiting and just ordered the spur. i will fix the problem later, but for now its just a little more weight to spin.

well, i got a chance to get a small feel of 25volts in this truck. its going to be insane. it was dark once i got the batteries charged, but i chanced some throtle stabs in the front lawn. first one resulted in what looked like two flips. that was full throtle and scared the crap out of me. i went again about 1/2 maybe a little more and still easily completes flips. i can tell now i may be taming this thing some how. i'm hoping to get some daylight running tomorrow so i can really feel it out but we have rain in the forcast so i may be screwed.

i'm also thinking a center diff will be in order as first attempt to control it a little better. mine now is locked.

got a new mount made for the motor and diff and i found out very quickly that a locked diff with a 1717 on 6s is a bad idea. did a high speed flip(insane power) and landed on front tires with throtle and lost a tooth on my front pinion. so far i've gotten less than a min of drive time with my newly purchased MMM in there. i fried the mgm22418 right after i put together my mount.

still a work in progress. i'm going to score a complete diff on ebay and get rid of the locked crap. if i'm still breaking stuff i'll look into a sliperential.

Sorry about your misfortunes. I like the fact that for the first time ever Castle green matches.
