Question Help! ERevo/Emaxx wiring issue - 07.25.2006, 11:47 PM

I'm converting my Revo to Electric, with a new Novak Super Duty XR ESC, and a good used set of motors (just until i get my brushless set up done).
The Instructions for the ESC label the yellow wire as positive and the blue as negative. On both the Emaxx I took apart, and my running one, the red wire was soldered to the connector that had a small red dot beside it. I made the assumption that this was positive, and the other was negative. So I ran both reds to the yellow ESC wire and both blacks to the blue. And voila! I pull the trigger for forwards and I get full throttle reverse, with the slight brake release hesitation. Go to reverse and I get full throttle forward. I switched the throttle channel switch, and that only provided different speeds of reverse, and no forward. Whats the chance that the EVX wires are not necessarily red (+), and blue (-)? When rebuilding Emaxx's, its common to get the diff's flipped, and have problems because of that, but I made sure that it didnt happen here.

Any thoughts before I cut my power wires and switch them?:002:

could you have accidentally installed the tranny backwards? Flipped the diffs (I know you said it didn't happen, but its possible)? I believe the Titans have 0* of timing, so running them in reverse won't hurt them.

At first I thought that I did in fact have the tranny in backwards - but I checked that. I only removed the front bulk heads for the chassis mods, so the fact that both sets of tires are going in the same direction tells me that they arent in upside down.
