LMAO......idiot!!! - 02.17.2011, 08:59 PM

OMG, I'm such an idiot! I'm currently in the process of installing my RC Monster diff drive cups onto my LST2 diffs in my e-revo. The two center cups went in just fine, not so for the wheel drive cups. When I went to install the wheel drive cups, they were sticking our wayyyyyy too far....in fact to the point that the CVDs bound. After hours of trying to figure out what was going on, I just discovered the screw pin never made in through the diff shaft. I screwed the pin through the cup, and then in passed in front of the diff shaft (therefore pushing the cup out several mm). And of course, everything works now!

Silly me!

lol...we all have those moments.

I remember tearing apart the front end of my T-Maxx or E-Maxx and of course, since I have aluminum bulkheads I have to clean the old thread-lock off the screws and put on new thread-lock on, and when I eventually get it all together I realize I put the diff in upside down, so I have to tear it apart again.

Like building a diff and forgetting the bearing on the cup side. Do that almost every time.

Amen! And it is so maddening. Although, the Losi TenT is designed so the bearing can slide over the outdrive cup. Wish they were all designed that way.

Or forgetting to put the nut holders in a Baka transmission and forgetting about until everything else is built around it and having to disassemble the ENTIRE ass end of my baja.

The first time I used my MMP with a sensored motor I got real concerned and posted a thread right away because it had severe cogging and wouldn't move. Just overlooked the MINOR detail that a sensored motor wires has to be connected in the right order. Oops...

I also forget to put on a diff bearing a lot too. Need to get in the habit of making that the FIRST step when rebuilding diffs.

My favorite mistake was not testing the rotation of the diff after rebuilding it. Next thing I know the car want to go both ways!

I once rewound a novak hv motor and hooked it up to the esc the wrong way even though I had it clearly marked. I felt like a capital loser

When I worked at a hobby shop I had a guy bring in his Platinum Revo for me to look at. He rebuilt the whole car from ground up and managed to put both, front and rear, diffs upside down. So now he had a truck that had 2 speeds in reverse and no front drive. What made it even funnier was when he told me that he tore apart and assembled the transmission something like 10 times.

Oh yeah, the diff cup bearing.......been there man. If I had a dollar for every time I done that.....
