My new Haas CNC mill! - 01.21.2011, 06:45 AM

Holy cow! Been a couple of crazy days for me but I just took delivery of a brand new Haas TM1-P machining center earlier today and I'm just so excited about it I just had to post some pictures. It's a tight fit as you can see and man is it big! It won't be hooked up until later next week, and then won't be fully running until even later after that but man does it look awesome just sitting there. I figured you guys might want to check it out. Watching them deliver this thing was pretty crazy, seeing a 4500 lb machine 4 feet up in the air is kind of an interesting sight to see. And I know my shop isn't pretty, but it'll get there in a couple of weeks, just had to wait to put other things in there till after the machine was shoehorned in. Anyways, here are the pics! Any questions just ask!

Enjoy!

Awesome!

Was this a purchase just for personal/hobby use? Or do you have a small business using the CNC machine?

EDIT: Mind if I ask how much it cost?

It's for a small business I am starting, but I'm not at liberty to give details about that right now. I'll also be using it for hobby stuff as well though.

As for cost, it ended up being about 40k after options, delivery, and tax. Luckily I am fortunate enough to be in a position to afford something like this, but I am definitely going to be broke until my business gets up and running in a month or two.

Yeah, something like 4480 lbs, but that's pretty light in the realm of Machining Centers

And it's clean now.. Soon it will be drenched with coolant and metal chips!

So many buttons. I like buttons. Buttons are cool. Can you post a vid of it working when it's all installed? So many buttons.
