E-Savage Steering Help - 04.21.2011, 11:10 PM

Hey guys, bashed at the high school today, and ran into a few problems.

The steering, is non-existant.
What looks like a broken steering tower (or whatever) is actually 2 pieces, and I suspect HPI designed it like this, as a "secondary servo saver".

which is quite ingenious, until it actually doesn't work, like now.

As you can see in the video (or kinda?), when the wheels are held on the ground, the wheels will stay, but the servo will swing the one part of the steering post, but it won't stick to the other one, and also go with it.

I've tightened the compression/spring nut, and it's as tight as I can get it (without breaking out the vice grips), should I just CA it, and then wrap it in thread, and then CA it again?

That is how most steering servo saver setups work, at least my Truggy is the same way. You can get a stiffer spring as an upgrade but I would tighten the nut first. The nuts can be a major pita to tighten, I use a small pair of channel locks if there's room otherwise needlenose pliers usually work
