G3 Race Suspension? - 03.13.2005, 12:19 PM

Recently I've been trying to decide which aftermarket suspension setup to go with and I did have my mind set on the UE Racer X but now I think I'd like to give the Gmaxx suspension a try. For those of you running this suspension is it possible to use a 4 1/8th scale shock setup like I am currently running or would I need to go to some smaller standard size maxx shocks such as the integy piggybacks or powerstrokes? Thanks for any help.

I am not sure of the 1/8 scale shocks but I am using the powerstrokes (excellent shocks). However, the over sized shock bodies limits the mounting positions on the shock tower because I am running GA bulk heads. The most inward you can set is the middle position. Its not a biggie though. With the shocks in the middle of the shock tower and the lower set to the furthest setting the A arms are nearly parallel to the ground.

Rear 1/8 scale shocks don't work well with many maxx type suspensions. The UE racer x shocks fit quite well, though (on G3 and others).

Thanks Mike, I was unsure as to if the shocks would fit.

I was thinking of mounting the racerx shocks on my truck, so I sized them up recently. This will likely be the shock setup I use this season.
