There's nothing wrong with online gaming. As long as you still have a life outside the games that is, and work and/or forums don't count!

I used to play alot of Unreal Tournament, COD, and other first person shooter war games. But for me it was a little different I guess. I had my good pc at my best buds house (home pc was just for internet and email), a match was usually 30min, so we'd play a couple matches and then head out on the town. The buddy system usually ensured we didn't sit there all nite, although in winter it did happen at times. I could never get into Warcraft or roleplaying games though. I don't want to gather crap to level up, give me non-stop action and something to shoot, now!
But alas, a gaming injury ended my gaming days. I'm only semi serious, I moved away from gaming just by growing up, but bad posture while gaming and from how I sleep on my arm has given me some carpal tunnell. And I wear a wrist brace most nights when I sleep to keep it in check.
Edit: @Erevocanuck: Googling those chicks is the only way you'll ever see them though, unless you step away from the pc! I should know, I had a hot gamer girlfriend at one time, but I didn't meet her online.
