Hi Savage03!

Welcome to this forum, we will do our best to answer the questions you've got!

There is a kit available here in the states, sold by rcboyz., streetprice is app. 160-170 dollars, it includes a special driveshaft, batterieholders, motorplate and i even thought it included a pinion. (MOD1 5MM bore) i don't know if this price is an honoust price though, here in europe the streetprice is app. 110 dollar, incl 19% VAT.

What do you want? how fast do you want to go? are you a wheeliemaniac or do you like it to run low, fast and nimble? what's the speed you want to achieve?

If you gave me some input on those questions i could help you make a list of needed goodies. Mike can actually hook you up with anything you need to make a BL savage.

Hi again Serum
I have seen the rcboyz kit and think its way over priced and I love your motor mount! You already told me what I need far as the esc and motor, 7xl and 9920 was it? I cant stand wheelies! So I want some torque and speed, Im a basher so need a mixture of everything.
Far as batteries, whats best? Do c cells or lipo's?

Well, i don't know if you've seen the 6S video of an 8XL on a savage?

if you don't like wheelies, get a low motorplate! a drawing is published here on the forum somewhere. (incl the sizes etc)

The good thing about the lipoly's is that you don't stress the drivetrain as much as with the heavier batteries.

But i don't know if you're on some kind of budget? your looking at a rough 260 dolars per set of batteries (lipoly) and i don't know if you've got a decent charger?

If your talking about your video, yes I have seen it along with a few others. So go with the 8 instead of the 7 then? Yes I want a low motor mount, I will pay anyone to make me one!!!
Which lipo's are you talking about buying? $260 is no problem..

So you know what setup to get!

The motorplate is rather easy to make. Just use an aluminum L-profile and the drawing from Joeling..!

No, it's the 8XL, that one is the 8L. please contact mike about this, i thought he had them in stock. Those two packs are 2X 3S packs= 6S (S means serial connected, so 6S = 3.7VX6=22.2Volts.

I think Mike knows where to get those batteries from, please contact him for it.

Here is the truck as it is now that will eventually get converted.
The tvp's are made by a friend, http://www.twisted-toys.net/
THeir extended an inch and half, 1/2 in the front and 1' in the rear. The steering servo is mounted down low under the MGT tank so I could have a plate where the tank is for maybe placing a nice lipo? In other words I have lots of room compared to a stock savage!
