Want to go faster - 07.17.2006, 11:17 AM

Hello everyone I have a FT rc18t that I am using as sort of a high speed project. Right now I am running a Tekin 6.8 with a 4s lipo and it is really fast, faster then the mamba 8000 on a 3s lipo. Is there a faster setup I can use?:032:

A lehner 1020/10 on 4s lipo might be faster, but its not a good idea to rev that high even if they say 100,000 rpm limit.

Would the 8000 tekin motor or the 9200 C4 motor literally blow themselves up if pushed with a 4s lipo? Would a lenher motor be faster just because of the quality of the motor?

No, it would be faster with a higher kv rating generally. Also, the amount of batts you run with the kv. But like said above, never a good idea to have the RPM's that high. You'd want to find the sweet spot of the motor. A good comfort zone is arouond 35,000 to 45,000, and even 45,000 is a little high.

Wow, 6.8 on 4s. Your probably going to need a bigger motor to go faster than that. You can't really add more revs so you need more torque. Maybe a long can motor or something.

Your probably getting 60 plus now right? Crazy.
