gearing for a rustler xl-5 with mambamax ? - 08.25.2006, 03:05 PM

Hi !

How large piniongear choud i run in my rustler xl-5 with a mambamax 5700 kv motor and 86t spurgear, on 6cells ?

You can't use a xl-5 speed control and any brushless motor....

I would get the mamba esc from Mike to go with that motor.

I run 16/86 gearing on 6cells nimh now and the motor get's up to 100f and the esc mabe 89f is that ok ? but i only get like 5min top's in runtime on gp3300mah cells is that normal ? my pack haven't beeen used for about one year so maby they aren't in mint condission right now ? coud i get like 20min's on a maxamps 8000mah 2s lipo pack ? an how about a 3s ?

Your motor and ESC are pretty much stone cold. Your GP3300s should just need another cycle or two to come back, but they might not come back to the same level they were at a year ago.

You should be able to get about 25mins with a 2s 8000mah battery.

temps are really good, your battery may have to be cycled...........

Well, if you stored your batts for a year, and there was no charge, most likely, they are dead. NiMh's need to have a charge in them when storing. After a couple months, you should re charge them(cycle), otherwise, they WILL die. try to revive first, if you only get 5 min of run time still, they are gone dude.
