You might want to put something around it as well. It will prevent it from flying out.

Yup, Im thinking the gorilla straps and the emaxx straps crossing the battery will work.

possibly a piece of angle along the side to prevent the battery from falling out if the strap gets loose

like sjcrrs suggests;

Use two gmaxx straps over eachother. The slots in the flm chassis are deep enough to keep the cells in. If you just put two straps over eachother (one from front to rear, the other from rear to front) you should be fine.

Actually the gorilla straps are vary strong it is the fasteners that are the problem. Because the fasteners are round it puts all the stess in one spot instead of accross the entire stap. I use a small peice of "L" shaped aluminum on the top instead and I have never had a problem.

Naughty boy you're asking questions about an FLM chassis on the Gorillamaxx forum. :027: :018: :027: :018:
You might want to put a thin piece of high density foam or sticky back foam strips between your batteries and that sharp metal frame. BZZZZT POP!!:035:

smhertzhog - I think it was because it was a Gorillamaxx strap he busted.

I've broke mine many times, I made some of my own version of the short bits using a bag strap and the gorillamaxx plastic recatangle bit. Seems to hold up better.

Posted too late :005: .

Actually, you could use straps from a car seat for babies, those are strong too, and about the right size. You just would need to fasten them like the gorillas.:027:

I've done that with about 4 straps! Dump the round fasteners as suggested and use something padded and flat.:eek:
