Where are all you gear covers -

How come when you guys take pictures of your E-Revos. They don't seem to have gear covers on them? It seems like they would get chewed up in short order without them.

I assume you mean the Revos that use the Emaxx tranny? I ran my V1 Revo without the cover for quite a while and never had a chewed up spur due to debris.
The stock Revo tranny doesn't have a gear cover option. Seems to work OK.

I would be more concerned with electrical wires get snagged by the gears than debris damage.
Just don't stick your fingers down there when you're runnnig your truck :027:

I don't think I had one on my in the pictures, but I had one for it. It looks like swiss cheese though... I had to cut the bottom so it wouldn't hit the chassis, and I had to cut around the pinion gear and on the other side so the motor wires could pass through.

I run my transmission backwards and no cover to help with cooling. Running 32pitch gears and no damage
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

That is intresting I figured the would get torn up. I also wondered about wires getting caught but a zip tie can keep that in check. I would still like to get a cover on there. But first things first I need to get the truck.

Better then nothing. I suppose when I build my G2R I'll try it with out. If everyone else thinks it's fine.

I run a reversed maxx tranny on my ERevo and have a gear cover as not to have battery wires get sucked into the gears. I used a stock emaxx one, just trimmed the bottom a bit and used ~3mm of fuel tubing as spacers to clear the spur and pinion. Had one experience of batt wires into the gears on the Emaxx I care not repeat. :)
