Single Speed Case Durability? - 11.28.2006, 12:25 PM

Hey, I've heard that some guys have problems with the single speed's not being held on to the chassis well enough because of the reduction in mounting holes. I'm speaking of where the tranny (case) is bolted onto the chassis.

Is this true?

Do I need to upgrade to the fastlane aluminum case or is the stock case ok?

I hope you guys understood that...

if you are really worried about the plastic one....you can drill the threads out of the case and use a longer bolt, and put a nut on the backside and it wil be secure for sure....or you can get the aluminum one.....but I have never heard of anyone having issues with the cases

I ran mine with the stock case with no problems. One problem with using longer screws though is that the one side of the case has limited room for nuts on the other side. The other side is fine to put nuts on, which I did and never had a problem. The four holes should be enough to do the job fine unless your threads are already trashed.

I ran a the case with a 2250 attached with no problems. That is a heavy motor.

Peace!
