I was just curious how common broken dogbones are in a buggy. My lipos will be relatively close to the rear driveshaft and if it breaks, I can just imagine it flapping all over the place ripping tears in the lipos until the bones comes out of the cup. Or is it not even an issue?
I wouldn't think it would be, but you could make a really thin piece of aluminum to go around the drive shaft to protect them. Just something ~1mm thick.
I've never had a problem with that. In fact, the only 1/8 buggy driveshaft I broke was a front universal on my Swift, but that was the result of a harsh landing on one wheel.
