Touring Cars - 10.24.2006, 08:18 AM

I already have my E-Revo finished, well just waiting for the lipo's and I thought to myself if I could reach about 60+ mph on my E-Revo how fast could I go with a touring car like a TC4 or an X-Ray?

What is everybody opinion on that?

What's the deal with touring cars. Nobody responding. Are they not as fun even though they will go faster? Just curious why nobody interested.

I'd recomend a rally car. I had my tc3 for a while, and ran a basic 5300/7018 setup, as well as a b50 8s/hacker sport setup. it was pretty fun, but after I got some SNR rims and tires on it, and stretched it to 200mm, it was a BLAST on loose gravel. i'd say do it, but you'll most likely need to beef up the drivetrain.
I had 200mm aluminum front cvd's, NTC3 rear spool, and 190mm titanium rear cvd's, as well as the 200mm onroad kit (that comes w/ the aluminum cvd's), and the SNR tires.

How the heck did you run 8s lipos on a touring car?

It must have gone over 120 mph.

Now thats fast. :027:  :002: :019: :020: :013: :035:

I have a TC4 but it is not brushless, Yet! I was thinking of one of the MM combos, 5700 or 7700 on 2s.

haha, no, 8s was the motor, not cell count. I ran that motor from 8 to 16 cells though. (16 is too much :005: )

I have a tc3 with a mamba 4600 and either 2s or 4s maxamps 4000 lipo packs. 4s is wayyyy too much power for it though. Even when stuff doesnt break (which is rare), its undriveable in any normal sized parking lot. I have 30mm foams on the back, and it can easily break all four tires loose at 30+ mph. I have no idea how fast it will go completely wound out, but according to the speed calculator someone posted on this forum, its a little over 100.
I would consider it very fast on 2s lipo. 4s is just stupid.

Here is my TL-01. Not much to look at but it does very well. Ball bearings, carbon driveshaft and I changed the shock mount locations. It has a mm, feigao 8s and I run it on 6 and 8 cells. Tires sure don't last long.
