well If smoke came from the esc then most likely it is fried, sounds like it was cogging really bad.the motor may still be fine depending on the temps of it.

That sucks gizzmo, maybe you can send it back to quark for a new one.
Or you could sell it.. (bigsushi is already in line if you do ;))
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Peace!

how old is the quark? If its less than 4 months it should be under waranty. Even if it not under waranty. Id send it back to Quark to look at. They have some nice customer service and should be able to get you fixed up. Ive had very good luck in my repair/replacement dealings with Quark. Just about as good as the famed CC customer service. (RC-Monster still has the best sevice)
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I did order a feiago 8xl.
I was running wit feiago 8l and 4s lipo, i think to motor freied my quark, because i ran wit it, and when i change the batterys it wouldent run, and i treied for a but and then there was commin smoke out of it.
Maybe i can send it back to quark and order a new one to my revo and use this for my brushless fg?

An 8L on 4s lipo is HOT. No wonder it smoked the quark.. if you used an 8xl in the first place it wouldve ran ALOT cooler!

yes i know, but i did use a heat sink on it, do yo uthink the motot i fried as well? or is it just the quark? Can i measure the motoer any way to chek it?
Is there any way i can test the quark to se if its fried? The led lights are working and it respond to throttel/breake? But can i measure any volts out of the quark when the motor not is connected?
can it just be so easy thet the capasitors ar blown? it came a littel bom and then the smoke!

Even though you used a heatsink, it wouldnt help much.
Id take the motor apart to see if anything is wrong with it.
If smoke came out of the quark ; id just send it back.
