Which BL motor? - 06.22.2005, 10:56 PM

I am going to buy a BL motor and esc but I cant decide which is the fastest motor the XL2400,XL2800,Feigao 9L, or the Feigao 7x1? I am looking for a 15 to 20 min runtime. The fastest motor with the stock gearing and tires on gp's 3700. My emaxx I have already put cvds all the way around and spools in front and rear.

How many cells? The XL2800 is the fastest out of the bunch, but the Feigao 7XL is the most powerful.

also, you might want to pull the spool out of the front if you plan on racing. you might also want to look into the xl3100.

depending on what motor you run you will most definately have to get a lower tooth pinion like a 14 to 16 depending on the motor and number of cells.

The xl3100 can handle 14 cells, but it will run pretty hot. The xl2800 is a better choice for 14 cell running(or the xl2400 even). The xl3100 on 12 cells is capable of pushing the e-maxx up to near 50mph on a speed run with good cells(although I wouldn't bash/race with this tall gearing)

Hmm, I was thinking of getting the XL3100 but don't want it to run hot. Can the XL2800 on 14 cells offer the same performance as the XL3100 does on 12 cells?

The xl2800 will offer slightly better performance on 14 cells than the 3100 on 12 cells, and a longer runtime as well.

I just bought an XL2400 to run on 14 cells. Was looking for nice temps and runtime rather than insane speed. 40mph is pretty insane in my opinion.

Expect my report as soon as I did some testing.
