Spur/Slipper replacement

Hi Gang,

Been into RC for years, and out for the last couple of years. Last thing I built (after a couple crawlers) was a 14 cell E-Maxx with the Novak brushless setup.

I charged packs today and ran it up and down the street before I spun out the friction pegs (yet again). Now I remember why its been sitting for a year +.

So I want to find out what parts I need to replace the spur gear / slipper setup with something made for brushless power.

Yeah, a strobe slipper is kind of a set and forget option..

they are superiour compared with the relative poor slipper which comes with the maxx.

I don't see an option for a taller gear setup.

Is this aluminum carrier compatible with robinson gears?

No, not compatible. You need to use the stock pressureplates and slipperplates. the strobe replaces the spur and the friction pegs.

What taller gear setup are you looking for? it uses a 51T mod1 spur, and Mike has got 12t till 20t spurs in stock.

Well, you need another pinion with it as well. Since the old setup is 32pitch, the mod1 is a 25.4 pitch.

If you want a cheap set up that will hold a lot better.
I run a monster gt spring on mine.
The pressure is alot better and doesn't alow the slip the stock maxx
srping does. It holds up nicely to brushelss power. It will alow some slip as well just not as much.
The strobe slipper is good as well. It may restrict you more with gearing options
with the novak though. I hope this helps.

I think Im having the same problem. I dont have a brushless setup, but Im running big lipos on a stock truck. The slipper was slipping bad outta the box, but since Im a newby I didnt realize it right away. Ive tightened it up but its starting to slip again. So what exactly do I need? Im not sure of the stock gears much less figuring out new ratios.:002:

Well if it has burn the slipper pegs up.
They will need to be placed.
I noticed the stock spring on slipper is weak.
I picked up on for a mgt and put on.
It held up so much better.

Well, I figure whatever I do I might as well do it brushless proof cause there is no doubt that when the MM is available I will be getting one. So, if your suggestion is up to the task I will consider it, otherwise I would assume get something else, like the suggested strobe.

My friend has a t maxx and he mentioned something about a carbon slipper part that was fairly cheap. Know anything about this?. Are the t/e maxx slippers the same?

not any more, the new maxxes have revo spec slippers.
the old is the same.

I was not aware of the new change.
As far as i know the emaxx is still using the old peg type.

Do the revo spec slipper fit a standard EMaxx tranny? or Gmaxx single speed.

The emaxx trans uses a hex design.
The revo uses a pin thru the shaft.
