First off was the motor and ESC. Everything went in easy except for the motor. I am still using the stock tranny since I cant find a single speed conversion, and I found that the can on the motor was hitting the tranny case and I couldnt get the proper gear mesh. Quick easy solution was taking the dremel to the fins that were hitting the tranny case. Problem solved.

During this step I also found that the stock spur gear cover no longer fits due to the strobe slipper. To solve this I just cut the face off the stock one and used some CA and polycarbonate and made it a little bigger.

The only problem with the ESC was finding a spot where I wanted to mount it. My own decision was to mount it where the stock Rx used to be. I used a dremel to cut out the sections of the chassis I needed to get rid of to give it a nice fit then held it on with some double sided tape.

To cool the ESC I just glued a 40mm fan to the fins and wired it to a 9V batt that I have stuck to the tranny case.

If you want to get rid of that 9v battery, you can use this instead.

Next Step: hybrid bulks, HB diffs, and 3.3 sliders

This was probably the biggest issue I had during the whole build. First of all I had to find a way to attach the 3.3 sliders to the diffs. After some help from some people on the forum I decided to use the output shafts from the sliders and dremel off the threaded part, then use these to replace the output shafts on the diffs. It works great!!! Perfect fit. I also had to modify the pinion to take a stock driveshaft. Not the easiest task in the world but I got it to work using once again the trusty dremel. I just kept grinding and testing until the driveshaft went on.

The rest of the build went pretty well my only other advice is to ask any questions you have, and be creative with your own ideas. If you want any pics of specific areas or parts just ask. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure this stuff out. Im proof, this is my first build.

It is looking great. Have you got to try it yet? What would you estimate the speed and/or run time to be? Also, if you can, could you post a picture of how you installed the 3.3 sliders with the HB diffs?

Thanks

I only got to try it for a couple runs until I went end over end and broke 2 shocks and a stock rear body mount so now im waiting for parts. Here is the link where I found the HB diff conversion for the sliders. http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3588
and a pic of my not so pretty but fully functional pinion.

i thought about that but I'm over here in germany at the moment and I'm not sure where to get all the parts to build it and I dont feel like paying the shipping to get it from radio shack. Very good suggestion though.
