Mamba Max in a F103GT - 02.19.2007, 10:41 PM

Hello

Is it possible to have a Mamba Max in a TAMIYA F103GT? My F103 GT has had little use due to my Maxx I'm thinking of treating myself to a Mamba Max.

Current gearing is 93/25 with the option 0.4 module gearset. I have the stock 70/14 which will bring it to 5:1 which is 0.6 which would probably suit brushless power a lot more..

Chassis weighs 700gms dry

I use IB4200 7 cell packs (8.4Volts) in my Maxx so will modify the F103GT to suit 7 cell packs.

Tyres wise I will upgrade to Nitro Foams from 200mm 1/10 onroad Nitros. Rubber seams to lack traction for this 2wd.

So what are my options from the 5700 / 7700. Which one would offer me drivability and awesome fun. I'm assuming tre 5700 would suit me better as it can handle 3S lipo. Lipos I will have in the next couple of years.

Keep me posted

It depends what you want to do with the car after you put the mamba in it. For a racecar, either one will be way to much power for that chassis, but you can take that as a good or bad thing. I would probably end up with the 5700 on 3s, but the 4600 on 2s would probably make more sense.
If you end up with stupid amounts of power in that thing, you could try using a gyro on the steering servo to make it a little more drivable.

Well its going to be a Basher

I will put a Gyro in it , probably a HPI D BOX.

I don't expect 4wd beating handling , I just want "need change of underwear" kinda power!!

Thanks

If you decide you want a d box, you might want to know these are exactly the same things:
