Mods: New Signature Character Limit? -
02.24.2007, 09:11 PM
I was attempting to add the links to my BL buggy to my sig and was told the text was too long. I tried trimming out some text to add the links and still too long. I even removed some text altogether and it is still too long.
Was this changed?
I guess I'll have to put all the text in a pic...

I hd the same thing happen for me. Except, I wasn't trying to link to pictures. I was just stating the parts on my rc's.

Well, me too. I was just trying to add a little bit extra. Unfortunately, the VB code to add a pic takes up several characters and it only allows 200 characters now. When I first added my sig, the limit must have been higher because my existing sig is like 600 characters.
I know that some people do get carried away and the sig becomes bigger than the post, but I specificially used the size 1 font to keep things small.
If this limit can't be raised, I'll have to change the sig so all the text and pictures are in one image.

Was the site's version of PHP upgraded?
Can the limit be changed, or do you have to be an Admin, not "just" a mod, to change it?

i don't know about this change, i don't know if i can change it either.
I don't think so..
Sometimes it takes about 15 minutes before you read a persons signature, if he/she posts all the details about their vehicles..
LOL

That is true I guess. I just figured that the site allowed so much room in the sig area, I could fill it up a little.
Although, it is nice to have those details in there if you need help with something, you don't have to list out everything in the post.
Is there a size limit for a picture as a signature? By size limit, I mean width/height dimensions. I'll host the pic at my site, so file size is not a concern.

arh, for the troubleshooting you just post what it is you are having a problem with, and as detailed as possible, for the 'as if' occasions you don't really need a signature that big, with the entire hobby spreaded IMO..
I have got no idea why it changed Brian, so i don't know what the reason was. I didn't know that it happened at all. Perhaps Walter (hotncold) knows. You can shoot him a PM if you want an explenation.

If you have got any problems with your setup, i won't be asking what type of motor you are having Brian..

lol, that's why it's there. :) Although, I need to edit the Neu motor for the buggy since it's actually a 2d, not a 2.5d.
