HITEC HS-5995 Robot Servo

I just got one of these about 2 weeks ago and put it on my CEN Genesis. I also put on a set of Kumbo Kong tires. And I want to tell you. It snaps those jumbo kongs like they were nothing. I think HITEC has all of the programming issues straightened out. they are back in stock at all of the retailers. I have the HFP-10 programmer but haven't messed with it on the digital servo yet. But if anyone is looking for massive servo power, this is the beast. 415 oz in of torque at 7.4 volts and super speed .12 seconds/60°(@7.4V).
I hooked a regular 7.2 volt stick pack up to my receiver pack to give my airtronics 94358z servo a little more kick, and it is definitley kicking butt with this new HITEC robot servo. Standard RC servo size also.

I got me of these servos as well. It is one awesome servo. I don't have the jumbo kongs but man does it drive good. It is worth the money IMO

What receiver is able to give them the power they need? or is their some kind of bypass wire that goes directly from the pack to the servo?

My understanding is that the JR rs310 permits the power that comes in to go out. Additionaly, I hear that the channel three slot on many receivers does the same thing. I could be wrong. It would not be the first time.

at these powers, you are looking at about a 4A load, i don't know if the circuitboard inside the esc could hold up.

Has anyone got an idea how this works?

I'm wondering the same thing -- I fried my 16016 I think because the built in BEC pulled too many amps with my JR 9000T servo. I replaced that servo with a JRZ650 and UBEC with my 9920 and no preblems so far. The 650 works great with my 40 series mulchers too.

Right now I'm thinking the smallest servo that can do the job will be easiest on the ESC, or am I just being paranoid? Any other insight on the servo size/amp draw wold be much appreciated.

I have a futuba r133f and has had no problems. I run the ubec as well. I let you know when something gives. Until then this thing is the bomb. It was like driving another truck around. It turns like the controller is hooked up by wire to the front wheels.

They on the site for 115 I think squee. I think they are worth the money if you racing or have some really big tires. Then again I put one on my basher. :D It is a nice basher but a basher just the same. I first had a hard time driving the truck cause the steering seemed so sensitive. Have to see it to believe it.

This servo is not appropriate for RC car applications. The throw of the servo arm is way beyond what we find useful. The programmer is needed to sucessfully utilize it. The 5955tg has the same ratings at 6volts. Rumor has it that the 5955tg will operate at the higher voltage and that Hitec chose not to publish those same numbers.

I am not sure about the throw of the arm papa. My servo turns the wheels from side to side at 90% epa on controller. It does not try to push any more than that. I had to do the same with blue bird and other servos as well. I have had no problems with the servo on movement. Could you please explain about this programmer.

Cool... are you sure you have the 5995, and not the 5955? I have seen others confuse these two, becouse they are so similar.
