FL racers - 03.24.2007, 06:43 PM

This is mainly for racers that live in FL, but anyone is welcome to add to the thread. I'm friends with the committie members of the Florida state series (FSORS) http://saranetserve.com/fsorsforum/index.php . I'm trying to get a BL class started for next year us people that race BL 1/8 buggy or 1/8 truggy or BL MT revo - lst2 - mgt or savage. My ideas for class rules is very simple & are as follows.

1- only 1 motor any size or wind senserd or un senserd
2- any battery up to 5s lipo or 16 cells. 5s is the limit or 16 cells is the limit
3- any vechile that falls under my list above
4- There would be 2classes BL 1/8 buggy or or BL MT
5- 7 min quals & 10 or 15 min mains

I would like to know from my fellow floridians how many of you would be interested in this ?. Anyone with ideas on rules or anything is welcome to respond on this site .

If you live in FL & are interested in this class here is thethread i started on ther web site http://saranetserve.com/fsorsforum/viewtopic.php?t=465

Im also asking only people that live in FL to respond to the thread i started on there site, so they can get a idea of how many people are interested. Thank you

I don't live in Florida, but this is a very good idea. Although, I do think that 1 class would be unfair to some. I really don't think an MT can keep up with a 1/8 buggy. Maybe just have 2 classes, with less people in each class.

I live in Orlando. I would probably build up a truck for this if there were any off-road tracks close. The closest is the Daytona track and thats about 1 1/2 hours away.

I didn't realize that there were any other folks on this forum from Orlando. I'm in Orlando also.

I would probably be interested in racing in a BL truggy class. I don't know how happy I'd be with a drive that long to go racing though. If I could get a couple of other folks here interested in it, it might be worth a trip every once in a while to do it.

I am not a racer, just a basher, but that sounds like a great idea. As a south Florida resident, if I were to ever get into racing I think those classes would be fun.

Love the initiative here Hippie! If you can get it going in FL then maybe it will help catch on in other places! Great jog. Keep it up.

I'm not a FL resident. But heres a picture of my Cen Matrix 1/8 Buggy I converted you can use as an example.

Like and afford are two different things. I don;t think my wife will let me build a $1000'ish BL race beast this year. I've already spent close to that building up my bash maxx....maybe next year ;)

I plan to be there Sunday for the FSORS race and will bring the MBX-5.

Hopefully ROAR will lift it's lipo ban next year and we can get a class started. I can run Nimh's, but it just doesn't perform like it does on lithium and can only go about 7 minutes. I've raced at several non-ROAR club races and haven't had any resistence to running lipo.
The only problems I've had is with turn marshals thinking that my buggy has flamed out.:032:
It's always funny to see the look on their face when it takes off again after they set it to the side.:005:

Cool & i know what you mean about the turn marshells. I was at at race & my EVO flipped over . Then the turn marshell picked it up & started across the track. I let him get half way across the track then i pulled the trigger & he jumped, it was so funny :005: .
I use 14 NIMH cells. I sold my 7XL & bought a 1940 8T from mike hopefully it will be here by the race.
