Thinking of building a Track - 03.25.2007, 02:48 PM

I am planning on building a track in my backyard, or at least something to mess around with. My family has about 7 acres so there is hardly any limitation on space. I plan to build it around 1/10 scale trucks, and at most there will 3 vehicles on the track. It will mainly be for my friends and I. I have some access to heavy machinery however I have no idea how start making a track. Construction will not start until the rain dies down so for now it will all be research and planning. I've read around some and it seems the lanes should be about 8 feet wide. I'm working on the general layout design but, as i have never raced before my knowledge is somewhat limited.

Basically what i need info on is building jumps and other obstacles - for example, how far apart do you put double jumps, how high, etc. How high and how big should a tabletop be? How much space do you need between jump sets on a track? Besides single/double/triple jumps, washboards, tabletops, what else is there? That sort of thing. Any ideas/info would be very helpful, thanks in advance.
