I just bought a quark heatsink ,I have 2 40mm radioshack fans rated at 12 volts any suggestions for getting power supply from these fans? ? Will this fit my quark heatsink?I used to hook up one fan over to my speed controller fed by 4s lipos

4s lipo will be overvolting the fans by a little bit and may shorten their life. If they are typical 40mm fans, they only pull about 0.05A each. If so, you can read this to keep them at 12v.
BTW: You don't want to put the fans over the heatsink since the top is just plastic. For best results, the fans should be cooling the bottom.
any pic or link on quark heatsink?that's a helpful info Brian thanks a bunch one question what do you mean mounting the fan on the bottom and not on the heat sink?I thought that's why it has 2 places for the fans on the heatsink

I have that heatsink on my Quark with one 40mm fan mounted to the bottom. It fits well, and I could fit another fan there if I needed to.
My fan is 5v though and it runs off the UBEC.
Here is the original thread I posted about this heatsink. The first post shows the fan mounting and the heatsink mounted to the unused motor location. http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...quark+heatsink
I used 5v fans, but many have used 12v running off the main packs.
I have done some experimenting with the fan setups since the original post and I found that I really don't really even need fans in most cases. The temps run a little higher without them but I still don't have any thermalling problems. The heatsink pulling the heat away from the bottom of the Quark case is enough from what I have found. Use some thermal compound between the Quark and the heatsink. This is what I like. http://cgi.ebay.com/Arctic-Silver-5-...QQcmdZViewItem
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
