Good 2-at once charger? - 03.26.2007, 06:21 PM

I'm shopping for a charger that will do 2 packs at the same time. I don't need full-race quality, but want something good.
The one that caught my eye so far is the MRC superbrain 977.

Thanks in advance!

I think Integy and Duratrax have a couple like that... but usually when you look at all the specs you find it's better to go with two 'normal' chargers if you need to do two at once.

imo anyway...

What size packs? If the packs are balanced you could charge them in parallel and/or series...

Oh yeah... is this for lipo or nickel packs or both? And yes size matters too so we need to know that. (no not that lol)

no lipo's. I'm sticking w/ Ni-mh's for awhile. 6 cell / 7 cell packs as I've got an xxxt and I'm probably going to get an e maxx soon.
I've got [3] 6 cell packs (2- 4200 and 1-3600) that have to wait in line to recharge on my vision peak ultra.
I plan on picking up some more packs this weekend.
I was also reading a lot of good things about the ice charger.
It seems like one charger doing 2 packs might be more convenient than 2 seperate chargers, but...???

Why not just use something like the 989? Yes, you will only be able to charge the same packs at the same time (i.e. you can't charge all 3 at the same time because only 2 are the same kinda pack), but still. Charging 2 then running them why the other is charging is still better than charging one at a time. Not many chargers for a reasonable price have 2 outputs.

The 977 is a great charger for the price. I'm very satisfied with mine
