Revo Gearing - 05.23.2007, 10:24 PM

I'm planning on getting a 15T pinion from Mike and was wondering whether I should get a 52 or a 49T spur? I'll be using a 8XL motor with 14 GP3300 cells. Thanks.

This is for a revo? AFAIK, the revo doesn't use 52-49 size spurs.

Do you have an e-maxx trans, stock revo trans, slipperential, other? I need more info please. :018:

Yeah, with a Revo tranny, you are stuck with 36, 38, or 40T spurs. Then, if you have it locked into second, you can get the narrow, standard, or wide ratio gearsets for the tranny internals, which also changes the total ratio, but is a little harder to get to...

It has an Emaxx tranny in it. I'm going to lock it in second. I'm leaning more towards the 49 for the higher top end.

49/15 16.01225 : 1
52/15 16.99259 : 1

I got those off of the RC speed calc.

OK, if using the emaxx tranny, you'll probably be using a Mod1 gear, like the Ofna 51T spur? Most use that spur and then whatever they need for the pinion since the pinions are easier to change out.

Is there anyway to use that without getting the strobe slipper? Could I use the slipper on my revo tranny?

Well, you can, but it's gonna take some modification of the shaft. Someone here has done it, but I can't recall who it was now...

It looks like I would have to drill a hole in the shaft to get the pin to go through. Where could I get a strobe slipper?
