Got my shipment of parts!!! - 05.13.2007, 01:41 AM

i'm converting my Ofna Ravager Buggy to Brushless. i got the first shipment of parts in friday and saturday. here's what i got:

- Feigao 8XL (finned)
- Quark Monster Pro 125B
- Ofna CR Buggy Motor Mount
- A couple packs of Deans connectors

Feigao 8xl - i was alittle worried that the motor wouldnt fit but it went in perfectly

Quark 125B - smaller then i thought it was going to be. thats fine with me let me set it up a bit cleaner.

Ofna CR Buggy Motor Mount - did alittle research and found out the the Ravager uses the same diff mount as the CR buggies. so i went ahead and ordered it, fits great.

Deans connectors - made myself a Y-Harness (series) for the two batteries.

I'm still waiting on the batteries, i'm going with (2) 2s Lipos 8000MAH from MaxAmps. hopefully they will fit on the guards on the sides of the buggy.

I'll keep you updated on the progress and try to get some pictures.

the maxamps packs have got a rather small footprint, are you going to put them on 1 side or on both sides?

edit: still waiting on the pinion gear too.

You bet, you have to be careful though, they can't run all gearing options. I am forced to run 51/18 spur/pinion because any smaller pinion, the motor hits the tranny. In fact, it's hitting right now, but is JUST able to get perfect mesh. This is with a 7XL finned.

yep the finned version is "540C XL" the smooth can is "540 XL" no C. i'm not running a tranny so it should mesh up real nice.

Cool. I seem to learn something new everyday around here....

EDIT: I must be going blind- see the motors in the store, but didnt register that they were Feigao models.

Update - 05.17.2007, 02:09 PM

just thought i would post an update of my project. its coming along ok. ran into one problem. i'm running a low tooth pinion so the motor hit the rear chassis brace when i tried to mesh it together. i have the cnc aluminum chassis braces, i'm just going to use the dremel and grind it down to about half thickness. it looks like the going to work out good so far.
