Bl Tc4 - 05.26.2005, 10:02 AM

Hi you guys,
I searched but didn't find the answer. I am looking for a recommendation of a good BL setup for an Associated TC4. The guys at my track run 6 and 7 run brushed motors and I want to be able to stay with them and maybe "have a little extra". ;)
I will be using 6 and 7 cell matched GP3300 packs.
Thanks for any help you provide.
Matt

I would suggest the novak super sport system: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...NOV3005&cat=21 it shold get you going past 40mph easily on 7cells. This system great because it is just plug n play, reliable, powerful, and will give a low turn brushed motor (11-12t) a good run for its money....

Easy, you should either go with the Lehner basic 5300 motor with the 7018 ESC or the hacker C40 7s or the KONTRONIK TWIST-55 these motors are amongst the best brushless motors in the market and they work to their fullest potential when thay are in a touring car. YOU wont get dissapointed.

But remember, you WILL pay double the price of the NOVAK system, but you will definitly eat your pals in no time.

the warrior controller would need a receiver pack to be at its best when using less than 8 cells. If you are open to other battery options, there are some ways to maximize the speed/power/efficiency of these brushless systems as well. I think the MGM controller would be a better option at this point.

Thanks Mike and everyone else for your help. I ordered the Lehner Basic 5300 with the MGM (120 amp) controller. Per Mike's suggestion, I am going to try and run a 9 cell GP2200 pack instead of the GP3300's to get the voltage up. I am curious to see if I have enough MAH to finish an eight minute main.
Thanks,
Matt

Use nice, low gearing and you should make the runtime. You will probably have to tune some power out on your controller (throttle EPA) to hold the thing in a straight line.

Hi Mike!
I am going to start with a 20 tooth pinion per your suggestion. I will "throttle down" with the EPA. It is always nice to know that you have power if you need it....
:D
Thanks,
Matt

Power will definately NOT be a problem! You will have to re-learn how to drive it with all that power!

Hi Mike,
I got the 9 cell GP2200 pack today. It fits perfectly in the TC4 chassis. Now I am just waiting for the motor and the esc ........;)
Thanks,
Matt

They should show up Tuesday. Get ready for some serious power! Where did you get the batteries?
